pitch black : the new TCG release
all to know about the new release!

The new pokemon TCG release has got heads turned around the world, and here's what happened at the prerelease!
First when I arrived I received a build and battle deck (this is what makes the entry fee between $50 - $60). Inside there was a 40 card deck, a card list, trainer tips and 4 booster packs. Once we had opened all of our booster packs and the deck we began editing it to suit our strategy and play style. After we had done that we sleeved our most valuable cards (I opened a SIR, the second rarest group of cards in the TCG game)!
Then we checked our matchups for the first round of the Swiss rounds (three rounds of pokemon TCG when you get matched up with opponents that have a similar winning streak as you). And I tried my best but I lost almost all the games. And one extra thing to remember is that at a prerelease event you have a limit of 40 cards in your deck.
The new card pool includes:
over 30 common, uncommon, rare and double rare cards
11 illustration rare cards
18 ultra rare cards
6 special illustration rare cards (SIRs)
And 1 hyper rare gold card (extra fact: the chances of opening a hyper rare card is 1 in 12,000)
The different types for the build and battle decks were Electric type, Psychic type, Steel type and Dark type. Each of the decks came with one foil promo card however, there was a high chance to open more in the booster packs included with the deck. The decks did not come with a play mat or dice so you have to bring your own to the event. Also remember to purchase sleeves before coming to any prerelease so you can sleeve the deck and any other rare cards you receive.
Pokemon have not made any full decks for pitch black as they did for chaos rising or perfect order. That may be because this is a brand new release and they have not had enough time to design one. Even so I think we could expect one in the near future.
